Vermont’s Ellis & Boxer helps biotech leader Cognia Corp. expand into EU

Cognia Corp., a New York City based leader in the field of bioinformatics, has joined Scotland’s University of Edinburgh and ITI Life Sciences in a collaborative enterprise to develop and commercialize advanced text mining technologies targeted at life sciences applications. 

Stephen D. Ellis of the Springfield, Vermont based law firm of Ellis & Boxer, was Cognia’s principal legal counsel in the transaction.  Ellis commented, “We are pleased that we have been able to support Cognia’s expansion into Europe in this exciting and promising new field.”  Cognia CEO David M.
